Happy Friday everyone! Are you in need of some bridal shower ideas? Lemons are the craze right now and they make for some awesome party themes; a bridal shower, baby shower, even a birthday party! Of course for the bridal shower I went with, "She Found Her Main Squeeze." For a baby shower you can use, Welcome Our Little Lemon Drop, and for a birthday party, how about You're the Slice of the Party. So many cute ideas!!
I first started by purchasing a "lemon themed" digital file so that everything I designed for the shower would match. Even the invitations! I didn't get a really good photo but you can get the idea...
For the entrance I created this fun balloon garland. I designed the sign using my digital files and uploaded it to signs.com.I loved that I was able to order it in a circular shape rather than the typical rectangle.
And this was the view when you walked into the room! So pretty, right?! I'm one to think that anything done in abundance makes a statement. So, I strung 13 banners from the ceiling! It was almost 1000 flags!! Talk about time consuming! Again, I designed the flags using the digital files, printed them onto cardstock paper, cut them out using one of my banner dies, and then strung them on yellow bakers twine. They really added that perfect touch to the room! I recruited a few friends that were so sweet in helping me make these.
So what do you do when you don't like something? You cover it up! Yep, there was a large screen TV hanging on the back wall and it was the first thing you noticed when walking into the room. So I covered it up with this beautiful backdrop which was perfect not only for covering up the wall, but made for beautiful photos too. I used grid wall as my frame. I purchased thin sheets of plywood and covered them with shiplap wallpaper and then attached the plywood to the grid wall. While out on one of my shopping spree's I found these lemon art canvases at Kirklands and my brain started going with ideas on how I could incorporate them onto my backdrop. I added 6 different canvases, cut the title from MDF wood, spray painted the wood blue and glued the title to the canvas. Kirklands also had some lemon garland so I purchased some of these too and added them into the flowers at the top. For the flowers at the top I attached Oasis cages and filled them with white Hydrangea, yellow and white roses, spray roses, lemon leaf, and Italian Ruscus.
There were some pictures on the walls above the counters which were red and brown. This was definitely throwing off the decor so I covered these too with some window frames. I covered the inside of the frames with the digital papers and then strung a lemon garland from them as well.
I love details! It's what makes a party unique and really adds to the overall theme. For the place settings I made lemon napkin holders from wood, covered them with paper, and added details of greenery and bakers twine. Believe it or not, the plates are plastic! They look just like fine china, right?! I found them on Amazon. I also used white chargers which gave a separation between the plate and tablecloths.
The table arrangements I designed with bright yellow and white flowers to coordinate with the table cloths; roses, spider mums, Solidago, Hypericum Berry, stock, Billy Balls, and I even used real lemons too! They were perfect and smelled so good!
For more added detail I ordered personalized stemless glasses that said, she found her main squeeze and added a straw and slice of lemon. The favors I made from clear chinese take out boxes, added some cute lemons, ribbon, and a phrase that said, "Thanks for dropping by, you're the zest!" Inside were lemon drop candies and lemon candy slices.
We even served the most adorable boxed lunches! I purchased food cartons, created a template for the top, printed out the design on cardstock, and then cut them on my Cameo. Lunch was catered by Alicias who makes the most amazing sandwiches! Guests had their choice between 5 different sandwiches, yummy pasta salad, fresh fruit, and even a brownie and cookie. Guests made their request with their rsvp. I gave all the finished boxes, along with name tags and ties, to Alicia and she boxed them all up beautifully! If you're local and want some great catering, she is amazing and so is her food!
But first, as the guests arrived, they were able to enjoy beverages of their choice; mimosa's, wine, iced tea, and of course, lemonade or lemonade cocktails. There was also a charcuterie board.
I used the digital files to even create these adorable lemon wood decor pieces that were placed around the room.
And let's not forget the dessert table loaded with yummy cookies, lemon bars, lemon bundt cakes, and these adorable cake pops which were handmade from a friend.
This is me with my daughter, the beautiful bride to be!
And this is my family...at least the ladies in my family!
Overall the day was perfect and amazing! I loved every minute that went into the planning of this day. I hope you're feeling inspired for your next party! AND, if you're local and need help in the styling process, I would be happy to help! I do party styling now too!
