Hello! I'm Julie, the founder, designer, and creator of Paisleys and Polka Dots. I have been creating for as long as I can remember. As trends changed so did I, always learning and trying my hand at something new; sewing, painting, floral and event design, and even wood working. You name it, I have tried it! I have always said, "I can make that, and if I can't, I will figure it out or learn!" My love for crafting started many years ago when my two children were very small and I decided to give up my full time job to be a stay at home mom. What began as a hobby grew to becoming a consultant for a rubber stamping company. I had the pleasure of designing projects and artwork for their catalog which led me to other opportunities within the crafting industry. Over the years I have enjoyed being a teacher and educator as well as a design team member for several top paper manufacturers. I have always loved being creative, but my true passion is in sharing my creativity with others. In 2009, with the support and a bit of nudging from family and friends, I started Paisleys and Polka Dots. Someone pinch me because I never imagined being where I am today! As a small business owner I value the experiences I have had and the friendships I have developed by being a part of the crafting and woodworking industry.
Although I am the creative mind behind Paisleys and Polka Dots, I must say I could never bring you all these kits on my own. Together, with my husband Jerry, we design, create, package, and ship all of our products. Yes, it's just the two of us! When you call or email us for questions or customer service, I am the one you will be speaking with. We love connecting with our customers and sharing the joy of crafting with all of you!
On a personal note, I am a wife, mother of two, and now graduated to the title of Grandma. When I'm not in the office working you will find me loving the outdoors, on a hike, run, or off on some crazy adventure. I will try just about anything!

I find inspiration for our kits at every turn - while shopping, reading, traveling... I'm always brimming with ideas and love introducing new styles to keep our kits fresh and on trend.
All of our products are CNC and laser cut allowing us to produce unique and detailed projects with the highest precision and accuracy.
I also work with graphic artists to custom design my papers to match the projects and then the paper is professionally printed. The colors and patterns I use in my designs spark a mood or a feeling. Most of my designs are bright and colorful making you feel happy and joyful while a few may use softer colors giving a harmonious or calm feeling.
